Word To The Wise...

....got a couple e-mails and comments about re-uploading some material,
that was apparently deleted after the recent Megaupload incident...
All in all, i don't mind such requests at all,
and i'm more than fine to help over as soon as spare time permits me to do so,
my philosophy can easily be synopsized to...
from each according to his/her ability, to everyone according to his/her need.

On the other hand, i also do have a rather simple request...
and that is, do not start rambling in comments / e-mails regarding...
"how bad the Megaupload incident was...such a pity etc etc..."
Between FBI trying to censor freedom of speech online (eg. the Wikileaks incident),
and cyberlockers trying to control the flow of data/info and earn $ out of it...well,
i'm sorry, but i don't see as to why i should take anyone's side for that matter.
To hell with both of them if you ask me...it's 100% their own game of power,
and i don't see as to why people should be trapped in it.
I really got bored (if not annoyed!) with the crocodile tears about Megaupload:
like there was ...no free filesharing before all those money-greedy "services",
gradually took control over the wide majority of it in rather dubious ways...
"easiness" that was exchanged with freedom and privacy itself.
P2p existed around way way before them, and will continue obviously,
no matter what RIAA or anyone else tries to gain control at...
==========================================

...anyway...couple of re-uploads per request, at first,
VA - A Warped Sense Of Human =>
http://www.mediafire.com/?y795u41co76jxjk
Uploaded over at Mediacrap for the time being...if you need me to send it,
over at some other Uploadcrap-alike "service", i'm all ears :-)
The by far greatest track in this pretty rare new wavish compilation,
is NA Pop 2000's "Panic In Your Mind", and from what i'm aware,
Dylan Jeavons (from the band) has uploaded some extra material from back then,
over at Soundcloud ...

Second request, re-uploaded the Kod lp...=>
http://www.mediafire.com/?et9h82udh4bnur8
From my very very favorite ones i have to admit, and also,
one that took me a long time until i managed to find a good copy of it
(it was never extremely expensive in the online market,
it simply doesn't appear frequently for sale...
really curious if anyone knows how many copies of it were pressed).

Index Sign - Second Exposure

http://www.discogs.com/Index-Sign-Second-Exposure/release/2357828
http://www.multiupload.com/03HWNXUSJF

Now that's totally...weird, for 2 reasons at least...at first,
because i am certain that i had posted both lps from this band,
(but i can't find an entry for Second Exposure here?!)...and secondly,
because i was asked to also..update / fix it, since there were skips in the 1st track...
Unless i had never posted it in the first place and my memory deceives me?
Anyway...track a1 is correctly ripped now...more fixes in the next days...

Update: ...frankie just notified me that for some obscure reason,
i simply never got to post it in the first place,
but simply that the rip of it out there was skipping,heh...
So ok, at least it turns out that neither i've gone nuts / got amnesia,
neither blogspot is playing tricks on me or something...

Some "fixes": corrected the rip for Tirami Su's first 7" here:
not essential for sure, but since that's what i was asked for...
Also corrected the rip for Hôtel Du Nord's "Rose Marie La Guerre",
again, the first track was skipping in the rip of it out there
(that one i'm certain that i hadn't post it):
http://www.multiupload.com/STM17PF4LU

Another fix/update (18/11/2011):
Re-ripped Final Academy's 7" and updated the entry here
(there were noticable glitches from dust/dirt in the middle of Night Café).
Make sure to visit them over at their Myspace page,
to also listen previously unreleased material from them...

Chris Jones - Diversions: An Odd Electronic Assortment

http://www.discogs.com/Chris-Jones-Diversions-An-Odd-Electronic-Assortment/release/2351047
http://www.multiupload.com/FX5HEWKHTP

...here's a very rare tape from Chris Jones,
the ones that are dedicated to constantly dig such material to speak off,
are certainly already familiar with his name from his Sea Of Wires project...
Chances are as well that most readers might already have heard the track "S.O.W.",
since it had been included in the (unofficial) Flexi-Pop compilation series...
Absolutely essential listening for the fans of oldschool diy electronics,
experimental / minimal synth etc etc...

...ok, so i eventually thought of also posting something,
which hasn't appeared previously in the blogosphere,
and thereby i will slightly delay people's requests for re-rips/fixes for the next days...
I've decided to NOT make new separate entries for those,
(well, doing so seems a bit of an overkill to me, don't know...),
ie. i"ll simply edit that very same post here,
so that the interested parties know what i've re-ripped/updated...

...please, do not expect me to post any other ..."novelties" here though:
at least when it comes to synth-related material,
my friend Nick has quite lots of great stuff lined up from what i'm aware...
Saying that because personally, for the most part of it lately,
i've been mainly revisiting some good old new wave and/or post-punk bands.,
that's where my "roots" are after all...
( Normil Hawaiians - More Wealth Than Money anyone out there?) :-)
Pretty much the only reason i never got to post much of such material here,
is because others out there had already done so way before me,
and also, way much better than what i could possibly do myself... :-)

Per Request => Act - Ping_Pong 7"

http://www.discogs.com/Act-Ping_Pong/release/1638141
http://www.multiupload.com/LLS9MWP5IG

... some guy mailed me asking me if i had the...b side of this great 7",
which actually kinda surprized me, as i would have even placed a bet,
that this one had been already posted in the blogosphere long time now,
and thereby, easy to be found...but apparently i had the wrong impression.
I don't own a hard copy of this vinyl (and never did to be precise),
but i do have a full rip of it, hence, there you go... :-)

..."Ping_Pong" is a quirky, up-tempo and fast-paced synth wave-alike track,
which was also included 5-6 yrs ago,
in the nowadays widely known BIPPP : French Synth-Wave 1979/85 compilation.
"Black Dove" on the b side though moves in a pretty different direction,
being an exceptional melancholic coldwave song, and if you ask me,
by far my personal favorite from this 7".
=========================

PS: ...i get some occasional requests in my mailbox to re-rip some stuff,
which i had previously posted here... i'll see what i can do about that, in due time...
For a start though, i've re-ripped and updated the entry here,
for Force De Frappe's "Europe (Reveille-Toi)",
since it's one that many people had asked me about it...
ie. it appears to be in high demand and priority :-)
Per occasion, i do update some stuff previously posted here,
but in a somewhat "silent" mode though,
ie. i don't make newer separate blog entries about it,
(maybe i should? i'll think about it), eg. a random example that came to mind, here.

Der Lustige Musikant - Schöne Musik...

http://www.discogs.com/Der-Lustige-Musikant-Sch%C3%B6ne-Musik-F%C3%BCr-Sch%C3%B6ne-Menschen-Aus-Einer-Sch%C3%B6nen-Welt/release/2696887
http://www.multiupload.com/CQ1G283X4J

...and here's 1 more extremely rare tape from what i consider to be,
by far the greatest minimal band/project to have emerged from Germany...
But you already knew that...isn't it? :-)

This one goes up for Twist (hopefully he/she still checks this blog from time to time),
for being more than kind enough to share this one back on March 2010.
In my agenda, that was by far the best moment in this blog,
as it represents exactly the..."spirit of blogging" to speak off.
Ie. filling the gaps for the rest of rare and long time now out of print material,
so that the people that still insist in digging such great music, can enjoy it...

The material above was handed to me as a cdr-copy from a very good friend,
and the actual tracklisting might not match 100% what is mentioned over at Discogs.
In specific, total duration is around 60 min above,
while on Discogs i see that the original tape is listed as c46.
Not much i can do about it, and i'm not really sure,
exactly what bonus material might possibly have been included above.
Since i unfortunately don't speak german,
i'm certainly unable to identify/match the exact track names for you... ;-)

Back in October 2010, Genetic Music came up with this small cd compilation,
hence, before it eventually goes out of print...
My guess is that for 99% of the people out there,
this will be one of the very few opportunities / chances,
of ever owning an original Der Musikant / Heute release in this life.
And even more, without having to pay an arm and a leg on eBay...
=================================================

Hopefully everyone found something of interest in this blog during the last few months.
Blog goes now into..."sleeping mode", i can not predict if this will be permanent or not.
From what i can tell though, the fellow bloggers listed in the sidebar,
will certainly keep the... hungry for out-of-print material ears,
more than busy for quite some time... ;-)

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Still - Pale Face + 2

http://www.discogs.com/Still-Pale-Face-2/release/2861161
http://www.mediafire.com/?vtgb9b15k0jkfk2

...since back from early/mid May,
that i had ripped and uploaded the Pale Face ep here,
i've noticed that it got reposted in at least ...2 other blogs out there.
Nothing wrong with that obviously - in contrast,
it means that there are quite a few people who appreciated the great music,
that this band had came up with back in their time...

...in 1 out of the 2 blogs though,
i saw a weirdo/funny...statement in the description that...
"Pale Face has a by far better production than Real Time".
Well, this is certainly not the case...not really sure how this conclusion was made.

Through the last 2-3 years, i've seen 3-4 copies of that 7" being for sale online,
and all of them were more or less heat-damaged...couple of examples:
http://www.popsike.com/STILL-7-84-JAPAN-PRIVATE-FEMALE-SYNTH-GOTH-DARK-WAVE/110492652257.html
http://www.popsike.com/STILL-private-Japan-80s-female-synth-gothic-dark-wave/290406543869.html

Where "foggy" means...heat damaged in plain english,
and in the other listing, it is clearly stated as such.
But that fact obviously has nothing to do with it's production back then.
Ie. chances are that a few copies of Real Time,
were being kept forgotten in an inappropriate enviroment for...decades,
and thereby, when they eventually were found and appeared for sale online,
all of them exhibited more or less the same audio artifacts...
Another hard-proof that the production,
in both Pale Face and Real Time was more than fine,
is the above cd compilation of their works, from '91...
where obviously everything sounds crystal clear.

In short...i don't mind spreading the music uploaded here,
but please, try not to spread incorrect info along with it... :-)

PS: ...i've also included in the archive,
the vinyl rip from Pale Face 's bonus flexi / live recording,
since that one hadn't found it's way in the cd reissue above.
Mainly for historical reasons though :-)

Ian Elms - Good Night

http://www.discogs.com/Ian-Elms-Good-Night/release/1561266
http://www.mediafire.com/?cxcutovll1nzs86

-> Re-uploaded / 24 February 2012 <-

...here's a long-time now out of print record,
which gave me quite a bit of a hard time, in order to eventually manage to listen it,
although it's certainly not the rarest item out there...
It's a very desired item in the wantlists of oldschool synth collectors though,
thereby it always ends up at pretty high 3-digit prices...
one of the records that i've eventually lost quite a few times when auctioned on Ebay... :-)

The rip here was supplied to me from a very kind person,
who was willing to trade it with me...not sure if he wants his name mentioned though.
Since it always fetches high prices, and there are currently...
49 other people over at Discogs who have it in their wantlist,
i thought it certainly deserved to be shared and listened with a wider audience...
Personally, i have to admit i wasn't disappointed at all with it...
quite the contrary: excellent semi-experimental diy release,
comprising mainly of short melancholic instrumentals...
I'm way way far from being talented in coming up with detailed descriptions though,
hence, listen and judge for yourselves...hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as i did :-)

More nice material to be uploaded today,
since i'm leaving tomorrow for summer vacation...

(Another) Small Pack Of 7"s

http://www.discogs.com/Plant-Bach-Ofnus-Awst-Llwyd/release/764097

http://www.discogs.com/Laboratorija-Devica-69/release/2897884

http://www.discogs.com/Nadagen-Kult/release/936776

http://www.discogs.com/Der-Gegenschlag-Lach-mit-Oxo/release/2601500

...and here's another small pack of 7"s,
say until i find the spare time and patience, to rip and clean up a full blown lp...
All of them in a single archive, since it's rather small to download,
plus that you don't have to click / wait lots of times... ->
http://www.multiupload.com/BGJPXOUR0A

=============================
Except from Plant Bach Ofnus, nothing else in this small pack is my own rip,
which means...(besides thanks to whoever ripped those in the first place),
that you shouldn't waste your time mailing me if i'm willing to...sell those ones!... :-)

Don't really know much about Plant Bach Ofnus, besides the info listed over at Discogs.
They were from Wales, and actually, Fiona Owen was also the singer for Eirin Peryglus.
Material from Eirin Peryglus can be found previously here,
and also, over at the excellent Capa Nostra Syndicate here.

Regarding this 7" from Plant Bach Ofnus now...
Awst
is a pretty cool electro-pop track,
which is most probably suitable for the dancefloor,
and Llwyd is an excellent dark-wave/ambient-alike track,
(and the one if prefer personally / matter of taste though).

From what i'm aware, in their Weitharmonisch release 2 years afterwards,
they moved towards a more clearly techno-pop,
and ambient style (depending on the track).
Their final tape in 1990, Symudiad Ymddangosol Y Lleuad,
abandoned all the pop variants altogether,
being clearly ambient/experimental or so. You can find that one here as well.

...From the rest 7"s above, i probably know even less than the above.
My favorite among them is by far the a side track from Laboratorija's 7",
highly impressive material and way ahead from it's time,
considering this one came out from Yugoslavia in 1982...

...Der Gegenschlag's 7" goes up especially for GothP,
since he enjoys weirdo and/or forgotten ndw-related material... :-)
If all goes smoothly, more ndw curiosities will follow soon most probably...

Grey Parade - The Reason

http://www.discogs.com/Grey-Parade-The-Reason/release/2806901
http://www.multiupload.com/1FPER240I2

...and here's a pretty rare lp that has gained somewhat of a...
"mythical" status for those digging deeper in the 80s wave/synth-pop scene,
and which has been requested quite a few times in the past (eg. over in nwoutpost).

In contrast with their widely known singles "Asleep" and "Exteriors",
(both of which can be found and purchased with minor effort very cheap),
their sole full-length release remains widely unknown and pretty hard to find,
since it never got the wide distribution it deserved in the first place,
not mentioning various other production problems that delayed it's release as well.
More precisely, while it was already recorded since 1983,
it eventually got printed on vinyl 2 years afterwards, in 1985.

To keep it short here...
(and because i dislike copy/pasting info from elsewhere in the net),
pretty much everything you wanted to learn regarding this LP,
along with a very extensive biography of Grey Parade,
short preview samples of their material etc, can be found here...

Tirami Su

http://www.discogs.com/artist/Tirami+Su
http://www.mediafire.com/?vxvhka79zip4j2k

...both 7"s included in the archive.
Personally, i prefer by far their 1st 7" from 1983,
"Für Eine Nacht", your mileage may vary obviously...

Update 11-11-2011 /
Per request, new rip below for "Für Eine Nacht",
(first track was somewhat incorrectly trimmed of towards the end of it):
http://www.multiupload.com/5XNO21K5UG
